This is me dressed as Gintaro from ‘Gingitsune’ for ALCon 2014. Believe it or not, there is a fat girl in there. :)
I wanted to show that as a female cosplayer, you should never feel that you have to wear a revealing costume in order to look good, feel good, or get noticed. Don’t get me wrong - I have seen some *amazing* cosplays with cleavage on display, and I’m not against that at all; I’ve worn some myself, too - but it’s not mandatory by any means.
This is my first cosplay that I have ever done. I am cosplaying as Ukyo Kuonji from Ranma 1/2 for Mechacon X. I was very nervous about doing this cosplay for the fact that I am plus size and was worried about the negativity that I might face. However, the few people that I did encounter that knew who I was made my experience worth it. I loved being in costume and felt very confident for being my first time making a costume.
My faun costume. I’m just a noob as a cosmaker but i really liked the result.
Me dressed as Applejack from My Little Pony.
I went on holiday with friends last week and we stayed in an old stately home in the countryside - I figured I may as well take advantage of the surroundings and get some great cosplay photos done! (I also think my friends will now be calling me ‘Applebum’ forever.)
Any outfit can look good, whatever your size, race, gender or body type. Find something you like and enjoy it. :)
